​Events Schedule & Descriptions:

7:00 am – 9:00 am — Registration

Sign in, pick up your event pinnie (event pinnies must be worn), and sign up for dog events.

 

8:00 am – 9:00 am — Course Walk & Obstacle Practice

Walk the Singles and Pairs cross‑country courses and practice the Handy Hunter obstacles in the stadium ring. The ring remains open until the Handy Hunter Obstacle event begins.

 

8:00 am – 9:30 am — Mini Hunter Pace

A fun, relaxed team event for 2–4 riders. Enjoy beautiful scenery across three Caledon properties with optional jumps and a few checkpoints to test your riding‑to‑hounds knowledge. Trophy and ribbons to 6th place for the team closest to the optimal time set by our huntsman. This is not a race.

 

9:00 am – 11:00 am — Handy Hunter Obstacles

After returning from the Hunter Pace, head to the main stadium ring to test your skills over a fun, timed obstacle course featuring a horse bridge, a gate, and a few surprises you won’t find in the field. You may attempt each obstacle up to three times (our crew will reset as needed) before moving on. Trophy and ribbons to 6th.

 

11:00 am – 2:00 pm — Lunch & Tailgate

Give your horse a well‑earned break and bring your dog to the clubhouse. Enjoy a delicious cash BBQ lunch provided by the Caledon Pony Club on the clubhouse patio.

Admire the creative entries in the Traditional Tailgate Competition. Free to enter—bring your best picnicking skills, enjoy VIP parking with a great view, and impress spectators, participants, and judges. Trailers must remain in trailer parking. A beautiful prize awaits the winner.

 

12:00 pm — Dog Agility

Head to the tennis courts to watch a demonstration by one of our Caledon Romping Canines and their handler as they navigate the Dog Agility Obstacles available to all CRC members. Afterward, you and your dog can try the obstacles yourselves.

 

12:30 pm — Dog Races

Return to the clubhouse for the Dog Races. One person holds your dog at the start line at the bottom of the hill while the other calls from the top near the clubhouse—cheering fans included. See if your dog can stay focused amid the excitement. Races run in heats, with the final heat determining ribbons and prizes from 1st to 6th.

 

1:00 pm — Mock Hunt

Tack up and join the Parade of Foxhounds and Live Mock Hunt. Ride behind the Field Master and experience the thrill of riding to hounds on a short demonstration course across the beautiful Caledon Riding Club grounds. Jumps are optional.

 

1:30 pm — Mimosa Trotting Race

Line up for this crowd favourite—the prestigious trotting race! Trot as fast as you can around the course, but beware: if you canter, you must move to the back of the pack. Trophy and ribbons to 6th.

 

2:00 pm — Mimosa Challenge Cup: Cross‑Country Pairs & Singles Races

Enjoy a timed combination of stadium and cross‑country jumps as a team or as a single rider—or both. Pairs are encouraged to jump together when possible. Jump options: 2 ft and 2 ft 6 in maximum. Trophies and ribbons to 6th.

 

Awards

Ribbons, trophies, and prizes will be awarded following each event. Trophies may be kept for one year and must be returned for engraving before the next Mimosa Games.

Please ensure all pinnies are returned by the end of the day.

Terms & Conditions:

-Payment is e-transfer to: finance.crc57@gmail.com (auto deposit in effect, no password required)

-Event capped at 120 riders

-Dog events $10 per/dog cash only, day of event

-Ontario Equestrian (OE) Membership mandatory

-All riders must sign the EHC CRC waiver

-All riders must wear the pinnies assigned upon registration

-Helmets mandatory

-Please bring your own water for your horse

-Please clean up after your horse and/or dog
